PAU's Research Project Receives Support from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Archaeology, Assoc. Prof. Murat Taşkıran's research project titled "Settlement Characteristics of Ancient City Sillyon in the Persian Period" received project support from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

With the one-year project, the Persian domination of Sillyon in the 5th and 4th centuries BC and the resulting urban character of Sillyon will be investigated in the excavations of the ancient city of Sillyon, which are carried out under the presidency of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Taşkıran on behalf of our university as 'Presidential Decision'.

Providing information about the project, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taşkıran stated the following: "This project, which is expected to contribute to the urbanization studies in Anatolia in the mentioned periods, will be carried out in an interdisciplinary manner with the participation of experts from different disciplines from Hamburg University, Marburg University and Istanbul Technical University, primarily our university."
