Pamukkale University (PAU) Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan participated in the Strategic Planning Workshop organized to develop a strong strategic plan for Denizli OSB Teknopark, which is preparing to welcome entrepreneurs at the beginning of 2026. PAU is one of the key partners in this initiative aimed at fostering innovation and technological development in the region.

At the workshop organized by Denizli OSB Teknopark, Prof. Dr. Ersan Öz, the General Manager of Denizli OSB Teknopark, gave an introductory presentation on the current status and objectives of the technopark. Following this, participants exchanged ideas on the strategic plan for Denizli OSB Teknopark.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan emphasized the importance of universities playing an active role in every sector needed by Turkish industry, stating, “It is essential for universities to take an active role in every sector that Turkish industry needs.”

At the end of the workshop, Rector Prof. Dr. Kutluhan shared his thoughts: “We are pleased with the level of university-industry collaboration in Denizli. As Pamukkale Teknokent, we continue to grow through cooperation. This meeting reminded me of the days when I first started as the Vice Rector four and a half years ago. At that time, there was a disconnect between Pamukkale University and our professional chambers, and the city and the university were distant from each other. But today, seeing the heads of professional chambers back at Pamukkale Teknokent signifies a new birth in the integration of the city and the university. The developments in university-industry integration clearly show the level of collaboration in Denizli, and this makes me very happy and excited. It is crucial for universities to take an active role in every sector of Turkish industry.”

Rector Kutluhan continued: “Pamukkale University needs to integrate into every field of Denizli’s industry. We are always ready for this. Before the meeting, we also discussed Türkiye’s strategic position and changes in logistics. We concluded that we must take more effective steps regarding production centers shifting from Asia to Europe and new transportation routes. With these evaluations, we saw once again that every scientific and rational development brings significant benefits.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Kutluhan also shared the success of PAUTERM: “We have reached a turnover of nearly 2.5 million TL at Pamukkale University Thermal Rehabilitation Center (PAUTERM) in Karahayıt. However, this is not enough. If we want to be one of the leading provinces in health tourism, we need to strengthen Denizli’s air transportation. In addition to increasing flight frequencies, creating new projects for transportation to Denizli is crucial. As a technopark, we have many projects. By collaborating with our stakeholders, we share the load and strengthen our partnerships. We have developed numerous projects both domestically and internationally, which help us increase our visibility and recognition globally while maintaining our commercial connections. To boost our visibility abroad and help the companies within our technopark build reliable international business relationships, we have opened Pamukkale Teknokent branches in Warsaw and Amsterdam. With all these efforts, we continue to produce, develop, and grow. I hope this meeting will lead to fruitful outcomes. I would like to thank the Chairman of the Board of Denizli OSB for this productive meeting.”
