PAU Faculty of Theology Hosts the Regional Final of the Interuniversity Quran Reading Competition

Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Theology hosted the Regional Final of the Inter-University Qur'ân al-kerîm Reading Competition held at the Mufti Ahmet Hulusi Efendi Complex.

In order to strengthen the cooperation between the Presidency of Religious Affairs and Universities, to improve the ability of the students of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Sciences to recite the Qur'ân al-kerîm well, to contribute to the preservation of their memory, and to ensure that the contestants who will represent Turkey in the international Hafizah and Qur'ân al-kerîm Recitation Contests to be held in our country and abroad; In order to ensure that the competitors who will represent Turkey in international competitions to be held in our country and abroad gain experience in competitions held at national level and represent our country better in international competitions, Hafizah and Qur'ân al-kerîm Recitation Competitions among the Faculties of Theology-Islamic Sciences were organized in 2024.

After the completion of the university-based competitions of the competition organized for the first time this year, the regional final competition, in which university winners participated in the field of men's Qur'ân al-kerîm recitation, was hosted by Pamukkale University Faculty of Theology. Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan, Vice Rector and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. Durmuş Akalın, Denizli Provincial Deputy Mufti Âdem Karakelebek, faculty members and students of the Faculty of Theology and guests from the competing universities attended the competition.

Rector Prof. Dr. Kutluhan: "I believe that good results will come out of here. The winner of the Turkish final will come out of here."

In his opening speech, PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan said: "We are very happy and proud as a university. We are very happy that such a beautiful place is used for such a beautiful competition. I believe that good results will come out of here. The winner of the Turkish final will come out of here. Our elder Sait Atıcı, who contributed to the construction of our mosque, passed away. He also wanted such events to be held very much. May his place be in heaven. Our aim is to integrate with the city as a university and to be a partner in the problems of the society. As a university, we are happy to host this competition. I wish success to our contestant brothers and sisters."
The winners of Afyon Kocatepe University, Dokuz Eylül University, Ege University, İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University, Kütahya Dumlupınar University, Manisa Celâl Bayar University, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Uşak University and Pamukkale University Faculty of Theology participated in the Interuniversity Qur'ân al-kerîm Recitation Competition. Hamza Mustafa Aktoprak, the representative of Dokuz Eylül University, became the winner of the competition by receiving the highest score from the jury members. At the end of the competition, gifts were given to the nine students who participated in the competition by Deputy Provincial Mufti Âdem Karakelebek, PAU Faculty of Theology Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman Mutluel and the head of the jury, Hamza Gökçe, Member of the Board of Review and Interpretation of Mushafs. The gifts of the jury members were given by PAU Vice Rector and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Durmuş Akalın. The program ended after the collective photo shoot.
