Gücüyener raised awareness among our listeners by mentioning the symptoms of leukemia and reminded them that early diagnosis saves lives. He also said, “In 2015, Turkey's first and only Hospital for Children with Leukemia LÖSANTE was established. It was started with the campaign “You put a brick in a brick”. It is a hospital opened with donations from the public. Leukemia is a treatable and preventable disease. Treatment success rate is now over 94%. Today, we have young people among us who have completed their treatment. They are also with us on this journey and continue to provide support.”
Tuğçe Gücüyener gave information about the School for Children with Leukemia, the Children with Leukemia Village and the Natural Life Farm within the body of LÖSEV, which serves children and their families who face difficulties in various ways during the treatment process. Tuğçe Gücüyener talked about the LSV Shop, where LÖSEV products are sold, and said, “The products in our shop are produced by families. This movement of goodness started as rehabilitation and then sales became an income to be used in the treatment of our children.” Gücüyener continued his speech by talking about the job and career opportunities within LÖSEV, stating that having worked in a non-governmental organization is now an important distinguishing feature for CVs, and invited our students to become LÖSEV volunteers. “We want you to become LÖSEV volunteers. This volunteerism can be realized in various ways in line with the opportunities, conditions and abilities. Every volunteer activity is very valuable. It does not have to be very big, sometimes even a small help is very important. A blood donation, the packaging of toy donations is very valuable for us, the announcement of a work you see in our accounts through your social media accounts, in short, everything that can be done to raise awareness is valuable.”
