Inauguration of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The opening of the 7-bed Sevil-Şevket Keskin Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within Pamukkale University Hospitals was held with the participation of Rector Ahmet Kutluhan and donator Keskin Family members. With this newly opened unit, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was increased to a total capacity of 25 beds, including 18 beds and 7 beds.
Pamukkale University Hospitals, which accepts patients not only from Denizli but also from neighboring provinces, continues to open new units and increase the capacity of existing units with the contributions of philanthropists. The opening of the 7-bed 2nd level Sevil-Şevket Keskin Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was held with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Osman Özdel, Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Murat Özban, Meral and Nuriye Keskin on behalf of the donator family.

Speaking at the opening, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan said: "Today, we are happy to open our neonatal unit here. We sincerely thank Ms. Meral and her family. Every child born here will have traces of our donators in their lives. Therefore, here again, we understand that human life is limited but eternal. On behalf of myself and my University, I would like to thank the Keskin Family."
Speaking on behalf of the donator family, Nuriye Keskin said, "Thank you very much for giving us this opportunity. We would also like to thank our esteemed professors for giving us this opportunity."
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Osman Özdel said, "I would like to thank our donator family very much. Especially the support we give to our children is of great importance for our future. We are grateful for our contribution in this way."
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit supports babies who need advanced treatments to hold on to life with its expert staff
Pamukkale University Hospitals Neonatal Intensive Care Unit accepts many premature and term babies not only born in our province but also from other neighboring provinces. Since its establishment, the unit has been providing respiratory and other support for respiratory distress syndrome, infection, sepsis, necrotizing enterocolitis, gastrointestinal malformations, bronchopulmonary disease, jaundice, asphyxia, hypoxia and respiratory distress syndrome. PAU Hospitals Neonatal Intensive Care Unit serves babies who require intensive care and advanced treatments such as incubators, advanced mechanical ventilators, total parenteral nutrition, antibiotherapy, hypothermia, blood exchange, phototherapy for many reasons such as intraventricular hemorrhage, convulsions and retinopathy of prematurity with its expert staff and experienced personnel. PAU Hospitals Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has 24 incubators, 2 transport incubators with ventilators, 15 ventilators, 14 LED phototherapy devices, 3 open beds, 1 hypothermia device, 1 aEEG device, one bedside USG and one bedside ECHO device and a 3-bed maternal adaptation room. With this newly opened unit, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has a total capacity of 25 beds, including 18 beds at level 3 and 7 beds at level 2.
