In his speech, Prof. Dr. Güngör addressed the improvements made across the university in the past three months, noting that systematic steps had been taken to support academic productivity and thanking all university stakeholders. He stated, “The development of this university is not only the result of administrative efforts but the collective work of our entire academic community. Every contribution from our faculty members is valuable. I sincerely thank you all.”

Rector Güngör also shared some of the improvements and support measures implemented in the last 100 days, emphasizing that a new incentive system had been launched. He noted that mentoring and career counseling programs for young academics had been initiated and that processes for restructuring research centers had begun. He also underlined that support for publications and projects had been increased.

"We Will Provide Support Without Discrimination Among Faculties or Titles"

Rector Güngör emphasized that the university administration would support all academics regardless of faculty, department, or academic title: “Whether professor, associate professor, or research assistant, we prioritize supporting each of our academics at their respective level. Creating an atmosphere that fosters academic enthusiasm and passion is our top priority.” He also shared details about the incentive system, stating that the top five academics were determined according to transparent and objective criteria and that in the case of equal scores, younger academics were given priority. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance placed on suggestions from academics, such as support for postdoctoral researchers, the employment of experts in research centers, and technical consultancy in project processes.

"Pamukkale University is Rising with the Goal of Reaching the Top 10"

Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör concluded his speech by stating that they aim to elevate Pamukkale University to much greater heights: “This university will rise with you. Hopefully, we will move from 42nd place to the top 10 together.”

At the end of the program, certificates of appreciation were presented by Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör and Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ersan Öz, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Türkçüer, and Prof. Dr. Mehmet İnel to faculty members who served as coordinators of TÜBİTAK projects, to those with an H-index of 5 or higher over the past five years, and to those conducting BAP projects.

According to information from the PAU senior administration, the most successful academics were selected based on work carried out over the past five years. H-index scores were reviewed via Google Scholar through faculty deanships, and the top five academics with the highest scores from each academic unit were invited. In cases where multiple individuals were tied for fifth place, the youngest was selected for encouragement purposes. Academics with an H-index below 5 were not invited.
