The exhibition, organized by students of PAU Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Architecture, took place at the foyer of Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz Congress and Culture Center. The exhibition was opened to visitors with opening speeches by PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tamer Ayvaz. In addition to faculty members of the Architecture and Design Faculty and the Engineering Faculty, the opening program was attended by the management of the Chamber of Architects of TMMOB Denizli Branch, industry representatives, and a large number of students. The exhibition created an important platform that brought together academics and students from different disciplines, strengthening the interaction between the fields of architecture and engineering.
The exhibition focused on the redesign of the Engineering Faculty B Block (Civil and Geological Engineering Department Building), one of the oldest structures of the Kınıklı Campus, to meet current needs, as part of the “MIM 411 Architectural Design V” course during the 2025–2026 Fall Semester. Students analyzed the spatial, functional, and environmental potentials of the existing structure and developed innovative design proposals considering contemporary architectural approaches such as sustainability, accessibility, user comfort, and integration with the campus. The projects featured in the exhibition were produced under the guidance of course instructors Assistant Professor Gözde Kan Ülkü, Assistant Professor Saadet Mutlu Kaytan, Assistant Professor Ayşe Nur Şenel Fidangenç, and Research Assistant Dr. Dilek Avsan Karaman, representing the outcome of intensive studio work carried out throughout the semester. The projects received high praise from visitors in terms of urban context, building-scale transformation scenarios, user experience, flexible spatial arrangements, and environmentally friendly design strategies.
The Student Concept Project Exhibition, reflecting the creative perspectives and contemporary design approaches of young architect candidates, attracted attention for providing qualified suggestions that encourage rethinking the university–campus relationship, contributing both to the educational process and to public space discussions. The exhibition is also intended to inspire potential future renovation and transformation projects.
