Rector Güngör Presents Certificates of Appreciation to PAU Athletes Who Placed in Sports Tournaments
A certificate of appreciation ceremony was organized for Pamukkale University (PAU) athletes who placed in Karate, Kickboxing, Wushu, Muay Thai, Snow Bocce, Snow Volleyball, and American Football competitions held in January–February of the 2025–2026 academic year by the Turkish University Sports Federation.
At the ceremony held in the Rectorate Senate Hall, Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör presented certificates of appreciation to PAU athletes who achieved rankings in competitions held in different categories and at different universities, and wished continued success to their coaches and all athletes.
Karate (January 28–31, 2026) – Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University
The championship was attended with 3 male athletes, 1 female athlete, and 1 coach/administrator, and concluded with 1 silver medal.
Kickboxing (January 16–18, 2026) – Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University
The championship was attended with 10 male athletes, 16 female athletes, and 3 coaches/administrators, and concluded with 2 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
Wushu (January 21–22, 2026) – Sakarya
The championship was attended with 7 male athletes, 7 female athletes, and 2 coaches/administrators, and concluded with 1 gold and 6 bronze medals.
Muay Thai (February 13–16, 2026) – Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University
The championship was attended with 1 male athlete, 8 female athletes, and 1 coach/administrator, and concluded with 1 silver medal.
Winter Sports Games – Snow Bocce (February 14–16, 2026) – Erzurum
Within the scope of the TÜSF 2026 Winter Games, PAU participated for the first time in Snow Bocce competitions with 3 male athletes, 1 female athlete, and 3 coaches/administrators. In the mixed trio category, PAU won third place and completed the championship with a trophy.
American Football (February 21–23, 2026) – Düzce University
The Pamukkale Horozları Team defeated Düzce University 52–6 in their group and, remaining undefeated with 5 wins in 5 matches, broke a scoring record with 302 points and was promoted to the super league for the first time in the history of Pamukkale University.
