Three projects of Pamukkale University Faculty of Education received support from TUBITAK.

“Adventure Begins in Nature-Forest School”

The 122B652 “Adventure Begins in Nature-Forest School” project under the direction of PAU Education Faculty Mathematics and Science Education Department Science Education Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. Fatma Taşkın Ekici was deemed worthy of support by TUBITAK. In the project, it was aimed for students who grew up disconnected from nature for different reasons, to have the opportunity to get to know themselves and their environment in forest schools, and to raise awareness about the environment. Activities will be held at the forest school to contribute to the development of students' personal, affective and life skills and to help them become self-confident, risk-taking, courageous, decision-making skills, strong communication and team spirit.

Activities within the scope of the project consist of five titles: “activities to get to know the forest holistically”, “artistic activities”, “application activities”, “game-based activities” and “outdoor sports activities”. Project activities are planned to be held in the first week of September (5-11 September 2022).

Philosophy for Children (P4C) Camp

 “My Journey to Learning by Imagining and Thinking: Philosophy for Children (P4C) Camp” supported by TÜBİTAK 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools is coordinated by Dr. Hasret Kökten, and the Project Specialist is Dr. Esin Turan Güllaç. The project, which includes primary school 4th grade students as the target audience, aims to develop children's skills of questioning, critical and creative thinking, and collaborative work from an early age.

Philosophy for Children (P4C) activity primarily aims to enable children to reveal their own thoughts, to discuss with people who think differently, to gain logical abilities and to develop thinking, questioning and research skills thanks to rich stimuli on the concepts that form the basis of philosophical thinking.

“Seyr-i Bilim (On the Course of Science)”


Within the scope of TÜBİTAK-Science and Society Projects-4007 Science Festivals Support Program, The “Seyr-i Bilim” project led by Res. Assist. Merve Kocagül was also entitled to be supported. All citizens, regardless of age group, residing in Denizli center and districts will be able to participate in the project, which is expected to take place between September 29 and October 1, 2022.

In the project, it is aimed to disseminate science culture and communication in the society in general, to convey scientific information to the participants and to convey the interaction between science and technology society through activities. In the proposed project, workshops, seminars etc., to be prepared in the context of different science disciplines, in accordance with the competencies that individuals are required to have through our country's curricula in order to promote scientific literacy as well as science fair activities will be held.
