Rector Kutluhan Congratulates Medal-winning Athletes
PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan met with the athletes and their trainers who successfully represented PAU in the tournaments they participated in. Prof. Dr. Kutluhan congratulated the medal-winning athletes for their success, while the teams that ranked higher in their categories presented their trophies to Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan.
At the end of the meeting, wishing the champion athletes continued success, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan presented gifts to the athletes and coaches in memory of the day. At the meeting, the PAU Women's Karate Team, which came in 3rd in Turkey in the Women's Category, and the PAU Kick Boxing Team, which came in 3rd in Turkey in two different categories in the Turkey Interuniversity Kick Boxing Tournament, also presented their trophies to Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan.
In the Turkey Inter-University Kick Boxing Tournament held in Erzurum between 13-19 March 2022, While the PAU Kick Boxing Team, coached by Assoc. Dr. Süleyman Gönülateş, competed with a total of 6 athletes, the athletes from PAU; Derya Kırmızıgül and Esra Nur Shepherds got gold medals; Kaan Öz, Yasmin Bouatay, Aleyna Perakende and Dilara Kaya won the bronze medal. Derya Kırmızıgül and Esra Nur Çobanlar, who won the gold medals, deserved to represent our country at the Universities World Championship to be held in Poland with this success.
While the PAU Karate Team, coached by Erdoğan Balık, competed with a total of 10 athletes in Turkey Inter-University Karate Tournament held in Balıkesir between 17-20 March 2022, PAU athletes; Yağmur İpek, Zeynep Ağbuğa, Naciye Hasyılmaz and Mehmet Batuhan Özdemir won the bronze medal. PAU Women's Karate Team took the 3rd place in Turkey in the tournament.
In Turkish Inter-University Taekwondo Tournament held in Hatay between 25-28 March 2022, while the PAU Taekwondo Team, coached by Assoc. Dr. Şehmus Aslan, competed with a total of 8 athletes, Mehmet Kaan Şenkuru won the bronze medal.
Süleyman Urcu became the champion of Turkey by winning the gold medal at the Gazi University Traditional Cycling Tournament, which was held between 26-27 March 2022 as part of the Turkey Cycling Road Races.
