PAU SBF Students Support Project for Primary School Students

In cooperation with Pamukkale University (PAU) and Pamukkale Youth Center, a meaningful project was carried out by the students of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching at PAU Faculty of Sports Sciences (SBF) within the scope of the Community Service Practices course.
PAU Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department students donated books, stationery, toys and sports equipment to Pamukkale Youth Center Denizli-Pamukkale District Cafer Sadık Abalıoğlu Primary School and Münevver Nafiz Dirlik Secondary School with their project within the scope of Community Service Practices Course.
Course and project supervisor Dr. Zekeriya Çelik, who is in charge of the course and project, the donations collected from different institutions, organizations, NGOs and individuals contacted by the students who took the course during the fall semester and the donations such as sports equipment and toys provided by Pamukkale Youth Center were delivered to the students with a ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Zekeriya Çelik, Pamukkale Youth Center Director Zafer Akçay, students and center teachers, Cafer Sadık Abalıoğlu Primary School Vice Principal Ömer Ceylan, Münevver Nafiz Dirlik Secondary School Principal Çetin Özbacak and teachers.
The prospective teachers, who played games and chatted with the little hearts in the school garden before the ceremony, stated that the project was very productive and in this sense, they were happy to realize a very meaningful and beautiful project before starting their profession. Dr. Zekeriya Çelik stated that as Pamukkale University, they aim to raise prospective teachers as individuals with increased social sensitivity and solution approaches to problems: "We have carried out many different projects within the scope of this course for more than 10 years. In the past years, we donated to Pamukkale Primary School, Hüsamettin Kulaklı Kindergarten and Primary School, Pamukkale Uzunpınar Village Primary School, Çivril Işıklı Village Primary School and Secondary School, Karahasanlı Primary School and Secondary School with a similar project. We also brought a Z-Library to Pamukkale Cankurtaran Village Secondary School. I think that our projects have achieved their purpose and set an example in this sense. In this sense, I would like to express my gratitude to our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan and Provincial and District Directorate of National Education, Directorate of Youth Center, Dean of our Faculty Prof. Dr. Yunus Arslan, my students and everyone who contributed."
