PAU Student's Project to Meet Antibacterial Rubber Demand in Automotive Sector
The project prepared by Pamukkale University Chemical Engineering Department student Oğuzhan Nalbant within the scope of 2209/B Industrial Undergraduate Research Projects Support was entitled to be supported by TÜBİTAK.
The project titled "Attaining Antibacterial Properties and Improving Physico-Mechanical Properties of Rubber Products by Using Silver Nanoparticles Obtained by Green Synthesis in the Automotive Industry" applied by Chemical Engineering senior student Oğuzhan Nalbant was accepted by TÜBİTAK.
Giving information about the project, the project consultant from Pamukkale University Faculty of Engineering, Faculty Member Dr. Deniz Akın Şahbaz said: “Today, with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the interest in antibacterial products has increased. This study will be aimed at meeting this demand that may occur in rubber products used in the automotive industry. With the use of silver nanoparticles in rubber dough mixtures, it is aimed to both give antibacterial properties to rubber products and improve the physico-mechanical properties of the products. If the desired results are achieved with the project studies, environmentally friendly, innovative rubber products with antibacterial properties will be developed.”
