Department of Geography Determines Water Quality with Scientific Study

PAU Geography Department carried out hydrographic measurements to determine the water quality in Beyağaç district. This study, which will continue to determine the water quality seasonally in periods and whose first phase has been completed, is of great importance in terms of observing the effects of different seasonal conditions and human factors on water quality.
In the study carried out, first the basin was mapped and the first samples were taken from the source point where there is no human impact at the determined points, to the regions where the chrome mining operation and human structures and activities are intense. Thus, the first phase of the scientific work was completed.
Regarding the scientific work, Dr. Selahattin Akşit stated that this study took place in three periods and that the seasonal samples and the records kept are very important in determining the water quality and that geography exists in every corner of life.
