Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaya: "Eskihisar-Laodikya and Pamukkale Faults Have Potential to Produce 6.7 Earthquakes"

Pamukkale University (PAU) Geological Engineering Department faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Kaya evaluated the destructive impact of the earthquake that occurred in Izmir. Stating that the loose ground of İzmir Bayraklı increased the destructive effect of the earthquake, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaya pointed out that the Eskihisar-Laodikya and Pamukkale faults, which have been silent for about 300 years, have the potential to produce a 6.7 magnitude earthquake.
