"7th PACES Undergraduate Students Conference" Held at ITBF

Organized for the 7th time this year by Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (ITBF) Department of English Language and Literature, 'Paces Student Conference' hosted young researchers and future academics.

This year's theme of the conference, which was opened at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences İsmail Çetişli Conference Hall, was determined as 'culture'. After a moment of silence and the National Anthem, the conference started with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Yasemin Beyazıt, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Yasemin Beyazıt, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, took place with the participation of students from 12 different universities in Turkiye (Pamukkale University, TED University, Hacettepe University, Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Selçuk University, Ege University, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Yeni Yüzyıl University, Üsküdar University, Kocaeli University, TOBB University of Economics and Technology) and various departments of these universities such as English Language and Literature, American Culture and Literature, Sociology, Translation and Interpreting Studies.

The conference aimed to bring together young academics in the fields of language, literature and culture to present their own work, share their thoughts and discuss.  It also emphasized the importance of passing on the rich heritage of culture and literature to younger generations in the 100th anniversary of the Republic.

PACES, which aims to be a step in the academic careers of promising students since its first year, hosted Dr. Trevor John Hope from Yaşar University as a guest speaker this year. Sharing his valuable views on literature and culture with the participants, Dr. Hope offered an inspiring perspective to young researchers.

At the end of the conference, young researchers were honored for their contributions and it was announced that the conference will be held in May 2024 with the theme of "Nature".
