PAU Hosts Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK

TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, who visited Pamukkale University for the student and academician meeting program held within the scope of the event titled 'Innovative Science and Technology Approach to Challenges Requiring Urgent Solutions Together with Our Young Human Resources', was visited by Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal before the interview. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan, together with Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Necip Atar and Prof. Dr. Durmuş Akalın, visited PAU Şemseddin Terzioğlu Earthquake Science Engineering Laboratory and then Plant Genetics and Agricultural Biotechnology Application and Research Center (BİYOM) and received information about the studies carried out.
Following the visits to PAU Şemseddin Terzioğlu Earthquake Science Engineering Laboratory and Plant Genetics and Agricultural Biotechnology Application and Research Center (BİYOM), Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan hosted TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal in his office.
After the office visits, accompanied by Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal met with PAU's TEKNOFEST teams.  Prof. Dr. Mandal, who closely examined the work of the students, signed the award-winning electric vehicle "Alatay" of the Atay Team. Afterwards, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan and Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal posed for a collective TEKNOFEST pose with the teams.

Rector Kutluhan: "42 TÜBİTAK projects are being carried out at PAU"

Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan said the following in his speech at the program "Dear professors, dear students, today we are realizing a speech that we have been longing for three and a half years. Because our President of TUBITAK is among us, welcome Mr. President. As we all know, TUBITAK is the center for the development of scientific research in Turkey and is a center that provides financial support. Very serious TUBITAK projects have been realized at our university so far. Currently, 42 projects are being carried out at our university. TUBITAK is also a partner and the biggest supporter of TEKNOFEST competitions. Therefore, we said that TEKNOFEST is asked from Pamukkale University. It gives us happiness that our TÜBİTAK President is among us. I welcome them again and leave the floor to him."

TUBITAK President Mr. Hasan Mandal started his interview by expressing his happiness to be at PAU. Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal thanked Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan for the organization made in a short time, and addressed the participating students by saying "It is very valuable that you are here and that you participate".

TÜBİTAK President Mandal said: "If you believe in the process, nurture your excitement and trust, there is no responsibility you cannot take, nothing you cannot achieve"

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mandal told the students that "if you believe in the process, nurture your excitement and have confidence, there is no responsibility you cannot take, nothing you cannot achieve." Prof. Dr. Mandal stated that there were teams that produced solutions by participating in TEKNOFEST after the February 6 earthquake disaster. "It is not possible to see this in other countries," said Prof. Dr. Mandal, "This is the best example that clearly demonstrates the potential of our young people. Our young people, our young human resources are at the center of the solutions to the problems we face. This makes me look to the future with hope." After watching a video on the development of TÜBİTAK from past to present, Prof. Dr. Mandal stated that whatever Turkey needs, they are trying to provide it with all our strength and personnel, and that important parts of the infrastructure of KAAN, our national pride, have TÜBİTAK's signature.

Prof. Dr. Mandal said: "We must find solutions to the problems, we should leave out the social science and socialization dimension"

Prof. Dr. Mandal shared information under the title of "Global Risks, Assessments and the Increasing Necessity of Solution Orientation" and stated that "we must find solutions to the problems, we should not skip the social science and socialization dimension". Prof. Dr. Mandal made evaluations on the conditions Denizli has and expressed the measures that can be taken, emphasizing "Manage yourself in a way to support the priorities of our country".

In the rest of his presentation, Prof. Dr. Mandal gave information about the support and scholarships provided by TÜBİTAK. Prof. Dr. Mandal also congratulated and applauded the Hazar Team, which ranked 1st in the Vertical Landing Rocket Competition, and the Atay Team, which received the Board Special Award with their Electric Vehicle named "Alatay", and pointed out the potential of PAU and stated that he would like to see our students in more categories.

TÜBİTAK President Mandal said: "Our greatest strength is our young human resources"

Prof. Dr. Mandal talked about the global challenges that we are living in today and whose effects will increase in the near future, the necessity of an innovative perspective in solving these challenges, and that this can only be possible with a science-based interdisciplinary approach and an understanding of achieving together, and underlined that the greatest strength in this context is our young human resources. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal also added that they attach great importance to young people and talked about the support offered by TÜBİTAK to students and the programs that students can participate in. TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal congratulated the students of Pamukkale University, who had very successful results especially in TEKNOFEST, and answered the questions of the students.

By answering the questions about TÜBİTAK research programs, we listened to the opinions and suggestions of our academicians. We underlined that we continue our efforts to improve our processes and added that we find their evaluations very valuable.
