PAU Hospital Treats First Earthquake Patient

Mücahit Akıncı Acar, a 45-year-old patient from Hatay, is being treated in our Thoracic Surgery Clinic and kept under observation. Earthquake victim Mücahit Acar explained the moment of the earthquake and his arrival here as follows: "I was on the 4th floor of a 7-storey building in Hatay, when the earthquake happened, I started to go upstairs. When the earthquake was over, I went outside and I hit the stairs at that time, I was hit in my chest. When I came out, I came across an injured soldier, while chatting with him, he said that his family came from Isparta and we first went to Isparta City Hospital with them, after I had my first treatment there, I came to Denizli. I applied to PAU Hospital Emergency Department and I was treated here in Thoracic Surgery, now I feel better, but of course I am very sad."

We were informed by our faculty members of the Department of Thoracic Surgery that the treatment of our patient was started immediately and continues. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Selçuk Yüksel chatted with our patient for a while and conveyed his get well soon wishes, we will do more than we can, it is time to be united. He also said that we are grateful to all PAU Staff and helpful citizens who support us. Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Murat Özban stated that as PAU Hospital, we are ready to treat all our patients and that we have made the necessary plans. Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan also conveyed his get well wishes to our patient.
