CK4Stim 2nd International Meeting Held at University of Craiova/Romania

Pamukkale University, University of Craiova, Başkent University, Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, Süleyman Demirel University, Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences and Tartu Health Care College, which are the project partners, participated in the second meeting of the international project held at the University of Craiova in Romania face to face and online.

Rector Kutluhan: “Standardization in the electrical stimulation approach should be provided by an international consortium.”

Heading the 2nd International Project Meeting, PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan emphasized the importance of standardization in the electrical stimulation approach, which is one of the physiotherapy and rehabilitation applications, with an international consortium. Speaking at the meeting as the project coordinator, Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Çetişli Korkmaz said; "According to the results of the questionnaire applied to physiotherapists working in Turkey, Romania, Lithuania and Estonia, it was determined that electrical stimulation application was frequently preferred, but there were differences in terms of parameters in the applications, and it was determined that the physiotherapists stated that they felt deficient in their knowledge and skills."

In the continuation of his speech, Prof. Dr. Korkmaz stated that the aim of the project and the outputs (subject presentations and guide booklet) to be obtained from the results obtained in the first project were well-structured in order to overcome an important deficiency in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation science, and he wished the results to be productive. At the meeting where the results of the first project were discussed, Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Çetişli Korkmaz reported; "In the second and third project outputs for the application of electrical stimulation, Module 1 is Physiology of Healthy and Denervated Muscles, Module 2 is Currents Used for Electrical Stimulation, Module 3 is Electrical Stimulation for Healthy Muscles, Module 4 is Electrical Stimulation for Denervated Muscles and Module 5 is Electrical Stimulation for Re-innervated Muscles."
