Rector Güngör Attended Minister Işıkhan’s Denizli Visit Program

Pamukkale University (PAU) Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör attended the reception program held at the Denizli Governorship for the visit of Minister of Labour and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan.

Minister of Labour and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan met with businesspeople in Denizli and made evaluations regarding Türkiye’s economic strength, employment policies, and new programs for young people.

In the “Labour Life Meetings in the Türkiye Century” program, held at Pamukkale University Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz Congress and Culture Center and moderated by Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karadeniz, faculty member of the PAU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Işıkhan stated that Denizli makes a significant contribution to the national economy with its production capacity and well-established industrial structure. He emphasized the city’s remarkable success in tourism, textile, agriculture, and industry sectors. Referring to Türkiye’s responsibilities on a global scale, Işıkhan noted that the country plays an important role not only in its region but also in the world, highlighting a strong economy. He stated that a fully independent and self-sufficient Türkiye would mean a more just and peaceful world.

In his statements regarding youth employment, Minister Işıkhan said that new programs are being developed to overcome the challenges young people face in transitioning from education to working life. In this context, he stated that the “Youth Production Era (GÜÇ) Program” has been implemented under the leadership of İŞKUR, and that various projects aimed at providing internship support, vocational training, and work experience have been launched within the program. He emphasized that hundreds of thousands of young people are targeted to be brought into working life over the next three years, and added that employers will also be encouraged to hire inexperienced young people. Işıkhan noted that with the İŞKUR Youth Program, which allows university students to work part-time, the aim is to help young people adapt to working life at an earlier stage, and stressed that employment policies will continue to be implemented decisively.
