The Public Sector session held within the scope of the “Sector Days” organized by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) at Pamukkale University (PAU) took place in May at the Martyr Infantry Lieutenant Bekir Can Kerek Conference Hall in FEAS Block A.
Representing Pamukkale Technocity Inc., KOSGEB, GEKA, and TKDK, four speakers shared their experiences regarding the functions of public institutions, career opportunities, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem with students. The event provided students with the opportunity to communicate directly with sector representatives from public institutions.
The session, attended by Prof. Dr. İbrahim Aksel, General Manager of Pamukkale Technocity Inc.; Sadullah Dülger, Provincial Director of KOSGEB Denizli; Ümit Gülyağı, Secretary General of GEKA; and Bilal Taştepe, Provincial Coordinator of TKDK Denizli, addressed the structure of public institutions, support mechanisms, regional development policies, and career opportunities for young people.
The speakers drew attention to the evolving roles of public institutions in the context of digital transformation and sustainable development. Prof. Dr. Aksel emphasized that the fundamental factor strengthening university-industry cooperation is the project development capacity of young people, while KOSGEB Denizli Provincial Director Dülger stated that raising young people not only as job seekers but also as individuals who develop businesses is of great importance for fostering an entrepreneurial culture.
GEKA Secretary General Gülyağı noted that regional development is directly linked to a qualified workforce, emphasizing that development is not solely economic growth but is made possible through the emergence of a skilled human resource base. TKDK Denizli Provincial Coordinator Taştepe shared that public institutions offer significant opportunities for young people to transform their ideas into projects.
The event, which attracted strong interest from students, concluded with a question-and-answer session highlighting internship opportunities, recruitment processes for public institutions, project support mechanisms, and career planning.
