PAU Search and Rescue Team Held Practical Training Program at Honaz National Park

The Pamukkale University Search and Rescue Team (PAUAK) organized a Nature Camp and Practical Training Program at Honaz National Park.

Within the scope of the two-day program, team members had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills related to disasters and emergencies through training in basic camping, wilderness survival, search and rescue, first aid, communication, and practical exercises.

Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör visited the campsite and observed the ongoing training activities on site. Receiving information about the program from team members and instructors, Rector Güngör congratulated the PAU Search and Rescue Team, which continues its activities on a voluntary basis. At the end of the visit, Rector Güngör emphasized the importance of such training programs in promoting a culture of disaster preparedness and wished the participants continued success.

In a statement made at the end of the training program, members of the Pamukkale University Search and Rescue Team said: “We consider it our duty to thank all the institutions that stood by us and supported us throughout every stage of this training activity, from planning to implementation. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Pamukkale University Rectorate and the Pamukkale University Department of Health, Culture and Sports (SKS) for their logistical support, which facilitated our operational processes; to the instructors from Denizli AFAD, who enriched our training program with their knowledge and experience and guided both our theoretical and practical activities; to the instructors who are members of TRAC (Radio Amateurs Association of Türkiye), who shared their expertise in disaster communication and coordination; and to the officials and staff of the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Honaz National Park Facilities, who welcomed our team by opening their campsite to us and hosted us in the best possible way during this challenging training conducted in nature. We express our heartfelt appreciation for their contributions and support, and we hope that this valuable cooperation, which has helped us become stronger and better prepared for possible future emergencies, will continue to grow.”
