Message from Rector Güngör on July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day: “The Name of Victory is Türkiye”
On the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör released a message emphasizing that understanding July 15 requires carrying this struggle in one’s heart, walking with justice, and standing on the side of truth.

“July 15 is the night when our nation rose again, stood by its will, and defended its homeland at the cost of their lives. July 15 is a torch lit against darkness. This torch not only repelled a coup attempt, but also defeated an attack on our thousand-year unity. The call to prayer echoing from mosques, the prayers flowing into the squares, and a nation united in heart declared to history: ‘We are here, and this homeland will remain here!’
As Pamukkale University, we regard carrying this legacy as a duty and an honor. While equipping our youth with academic knowledge, we are equally committed to raising them as individuals molded with the spirit of homeland, flag, call to prayer, and justice. Because the future of these lands depends on generations who are awake both intellectually and morally.
Dear youth, to understand July 15 is not merely to look to the past. It is to carry this struggle in your heart, to walk with justice in every field, and to take a stand on the side of truth. You are the present prayer and future hope of this nation.
On this occasion, I commemorate our July 15 martyrs with mercy and express my gratitude to our veterans.
With God's permission, the will of our nation shall forever endure.”
