Having begun admitting students to its dual diploma program conducted in collaboration with the State University of New York in the United States during the 2025–2026 academic year, the PAU Department of English Language and Literature has attracted global attention and further strengthened its position in line with international standards through the accreditation process. The Department of English Language and Literature at Pamukkale University successfully completed the accreditation process conducted by FEDEK (Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teaching Programs in Faculties of Science, Letters, Science and Letters, Language, and History-Geography) following a comprehensive evaluation of its educational programs.

Quality Standards Certified

The exit meeting, the final stage of the process, was held with the participation of Rector Professor Mahmud Güngör, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor Bilal Söğüt, and Head of the Department Professor Şeyda Sivrioğlu. According to the reports presented by Evaluation Team Chair Professor Figen Kadırgan and her team, the department received top marks for its educational activities, academic infrastructure, quality assurance, and continuous improvement efforts.

An Educational Bridge from the Local to the Global

The department had recently gained recognition for the international opportunities it offers students through its dual diploma program with the State University of New York (SUNY) in the United States. The addition of FEDEK accreditation to this global network has further demonstrated the quality of the education provided by the department through an independent external evaluation.

Stating that the achievement was the result of disciplined and long-term collective effort, Head of the Department Professor Şeyda Sivrioğlu commented on the process as follows: “The international partnerships established by the Department of English Language and Literature and the accreditation process we have successfully completed are among the most important steps in enhancing our department’s global academic visibility.
