“From AI-Assisted Literature Review to Course Material Design: Workshop for Instructors”

11.05.2026
The first week of an artificial intelligence-focused hands-on training program for Pamukkale University (PAU) academic staff has been completed.

The applied training program, organized as a continuation of the mid-day seminar titled “Generative Artificial Intelligence in Academia: Ethics, Responsibility and Transformation,” was conducted in three sessions this week. Within the program, different topics related to the effective and efficient use of artificial intelligence tools in academic processes were addressed.

In the first session, Research Assistant Koray Günel, with contributions from Prof. Dr. Selçuk Burak Haşıloğlu, explained how literature review processes can be conducted more effectively using AI tools. The session introduced tools that can be used in academic research, while also sharing best practices such as prompt engineering, source verification methods, and key points to consider in literature reviews.

In the second session, Research Assistant Aylin Sabancı Bayramoğlu introduced AI-supported tools used in academic writing processes. In the session, with contributions from Prof. Dr. Selçuk Burak Haşıloğlu, AI applications that can be used for academic text proofreading, summarization, simplification, and reading facilitation were presented through examples.

In the final session of the event, Research Assistant Berker Dal addressed the transformation of course materials using artificial intelligence tools. In this hands-on session, participants were shown how to prepare interactive and animation-supported teaching materials. Examples focusing on the use of interactive content in educational processes particularly attracted the attention of instructors.

The event, held with high participation, continued in an interactive environment with a question-and-answer and experience-sharing session. At the end of the program, it was announced that micro-training and practice-oriented activities will continue in the coming weeks under the newly established Artificial Intelligence and Digital Applications Coordination Office at the faculty.
