Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Communication hosted the 7th edition of its traditional “PRoject: Creative Ideas Compete” event, with the final held on Friday, May 23, at the Hierapolis Conference Hall.

The final event was attended by PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör, deans of various faculties, representatives from companies and NGOs, media members, faculty staff, students, and the event’s main sponsor, EDDE’s co-founder Duygu Uzun.
A Longstanding Tradition
This year’s competition featured a total of 46 projects: 21 in the Public Relations category, 15 in the Corporate Communication category, and 10 in the Brand Communication poster presentation category. During the event, PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör also visited the “Fundamentals of Design Year-End Exhibition” prepared by students from the New Media and Communication Department, who presented their work created in the Fundamentals of Design course.
“We Want a University Radio and TV”
Before the announcement of the winning projects, PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör gave a speech, emphasizing the significance of the Faculty of Communication. “We aim to establish a radio and television station that will be the voice and face of our university,” said Prof. Dr. Güngör. “Our goal is to create such a strong sense of belonging among our graduates that they will always proudly say ‘We are from Pamukkale University’ throughout their professional lives. I sincerely congratulate the winning students and wish you all lifelong success,” he added.
“Those Who Fail to Inspire, Create Stress”
Following Rector Güngör’s remarks, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Ali Soylu expressed his joy at having the Rector present at the event, calling it a meaningful first meeting for the faculty. “Every year, we evaluate our students’ graduation projects through two events: AD Project in the fall semester and PR Project in the spring semester. We began this process in 2018, and this is our seventh season. We’ve always focused on inspiring our students, and we believe that with the support of our new Rector, the facilities and projects of our faculty will continue to improve,” said Prof. Dr. Soylu. He concluded his speech by presenting a plaque of appreciation to EDDE’s co-founder Duygu Uzun.
