PAU Website Completely Renewed

04.03.2026
Pamukkale University’s (PAU) digital face has undergone a radical transformation with a modern UX architecture and user-oriented design approach. The new platform, prepared by the Information Technology Department, brings together accessibility, personalization, and intuitive usability principles.

A Personalized Information Hub for Students, Academics, and Visitors

Pamukkale University has implemented a comprehensive website renewal focused on user experience. Designed to meet the needs of different user profiles—from academic staff to visitors, from students to alumni—the new platform meets digital accessibility standards and modern interface expectations.

Through the panel, it is possible to access a wide range of content such as the promotion office, library, hospital information, and campus meal lists with a single click. This structure provides a critical convenience especially for first-time campus visitors and newly enrolled students.

User-Based Main Menu

One of the most fundamental changes in the new design is the restructuring of the top navigation bar and the Quick Access panel according to user identity. The top menu has been divided into four main categories: Education, Research, Applications, and About Us. Content that was previously scattered and hidden in a multi-layered hierarchy has been thematically grouped under these headings, allowing users to reach target pages with far fewer clicks.

In addition to this four-category structure, the Quick Access panel defining six different user profiles—from visitors to academic staff, from students to alumni—is an integral part of the renewed menu system. Each profile dynamically lists links specific to that group, preventing users from getting lost among irrelevant content.

Accessibility Panel

One of the most notable innovations in the new design is the comprehensive accessibility panel presented under the title “Accessibility for Everyone.” The panel includes image hiding, screen reader support, and motion reduction options, as well as cursor size and color settings, font size, line spacing, and letter alignment adjustments. In this way, a wide range of users—from those with visual impairments to those affected by attention difficulties—can customize the site according to their needs.

Developed in compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards, this structure is designed with the aim of becoming one of the leading applications in digital inclusivity in higher education institutions.

Promotion and Exploration Flows

The new content streams on the homepage present sections such as important announcements, campus news, event announcements, and research and development opportunities through a visual card system. In the PAU Academy section, the number of students, academic staff, faculty members, and collaborations is displayed with live data.

In the “Discover Our University Closely” section, visual panels introducing campus facilities such as the library, health, and sports are included. This structure enables prospective students and visitors to experience university life in a digital environment.
