CHILDLIKE DREAMS MET YOUTHFUL TRACES

Acıpayam Vocational School’s Social and Cultural Activities Community, together with the Child Development Program, organized the “Childlike Dreams Youthful Traces” event, bringing university students and preschool children together to create collaborative artworks. The two-stage painting activity, coordinated by academic staff, culminated in an exhibition attended by local officials on April 22, 2026. The program also included a storytelling workshop where children engaged in interactive story dramatizations, aiming to strengthen creativity, social interaction, and university–school cooperation.

Pamukkale University Acıpayam Vocational School’s Social and Cultural Activities Community, under the supervision of Lecturer Dr. Simge Şimşek, and together with the Child Development Program, organized a colorful and enjoyable event titled “Childlike Dreams Youthful Traces.”

Community members and Child Development students came together with kindergarten students from Acıpayam Kelekçi Gazi Primary School, Acıpayam Akalan Fatih Primary School, and Pınaryazı Primary School during the 2025–2026 Academic Year Fall and Spring semesters, and jointly created paintings.

The two-stage painting activity, coordinated by Lecturer Dr. Simge Şimşek and Lecturer Dr. Eda Bayraktaroğlu, brought together preschool students, who are at the first stage of education, and vocational school students, who are at the final stage, to complete the artworks together.

The resulting beautiful and colorful works were presented to visitors at an exhibition opened on April 22, 2026, with the participation of Acıpayam District Governor Ramazan Cankaloğlu, Acıpayam Deputy Mayor Özlem Dinçer, MYO Director Prof. Dr. Ali Kurt, Acıpayam District Director of National Education Osman Duran, District Education Branch Director Nihal Zeybek, and District National Education Special Office Officer Adem Acartürk.

Preschool teachers Rabia Arslan, Pınar Sarıca, Miray Süngü, and Yasemin Çokdan, who worked at the participating schools in the “Childlike Dreams Youthful Traces I and II” events, supported the project with dedication and attended the opening.

At the opening ceremony, kindergarten students were given various gifts. After the exhibition opening, a Storytelling Workshop coordinated by Child Development Program Lecturer Dr. Fatmanur Öztoklu Durmuş together with program students was held. Preschool children listened to and acted out stories through dramatizations. In this event, which enlivened and colored the corridors of the Vocational School, university students also spent time with their young siblings, gaining a different experience.
