Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan published a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the establishment of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and 'April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day'.

Stating that we celebrate April 23rd in the shadow of the catastrophe of the century, Kutluhan said, "We must tell our children that our nation, which has made all kinds of sacrifices for its national sovereignty and fought for this cause at the cost of life, under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, did not give up, did not collapse, and never gave up fighting despite the greatest difficulties."

Rector Kutluhan included the following statements in his message:

"We are celebrating the 103rd anniversary of the establishment of our Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, which is the foundation of our democracy, the most important building block of our full independence and national sovereignty. Our Parliament, which is one of the most important symbols of the glorious struggle of the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms with the entire Turkish nation and one of the turning points of our history of democracy, has brought our nation together around common values and goals since the first day.

The Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has dedicated the founding day of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which is one of the most important indicators of the honorable stance of a nation that wanted to be taken under captivity, to our children, who are the guarantee of our future, as a gift to them as an expression of his trust, love and importance. For this reason, it is our debt of gratitude to our heroic ancestors to raise our children as individuals who are loyal to their national and spiritual values, protect their history, respect human rights and freedoms, tolerant, forward-thinking, reading, researching and questioning, always producing, innovative and entrepreneurial individuals.

This year we celebrate April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day in the shadow of the disaster of the century. Throughout history, our nation has experienced very difficult struggles such as various wars, natural disasters, pandemics, famine, but has always managed to overcome with determination and faith. We must continue to work with all our strength, without giving up, so that the sparkle in the eyes of all our children, especially our earthquake victims, does not fade and the hope in their hearts lives on. We should show our children the example of our ancestors and explain that our nation, under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, never gave up, never collapsed, and never gave up fighting despite the greatest difficulties.

With these feelings and thoughts, I commemorate with mercy and gratitude all the heroes of our Veteran Assembly, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and our heroic ancestors who put their lives on the line to win the national struggle. I congratulate the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day of our children, the guarantee of our future, who add meaning to this beautiful day, and our entire Nation with the most heartfelt feelings.

Greetings and Best Regards."
