Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karadeniz and Dr. Sezgi Akbaş prepared and carried out the field work, and the project "All Stakeholders Hand in Hand for Youth Employment", in which the academic staff of the department participated, was a finalist in the Common Tomorrows Award Program organized by the Confederation of Turkish Employer Unions.

The main purpose of the All Stakeholders Hand in Hand for Youth Employment Project is to increase the employability of Pamukkale University Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations (CEI) graduates and to ensure that young people work in qualified jobs related to their departments in a short time. In this framework, with the motivation to increase the qualifications of students who have been disadvantaged by distance education during the Covid-19 period and who have moved away from the university, a multi-faceted project was developed with the voluntary participation of all parties to ensure the employability of the students of the department, especially in intensive cooperation with the graduates of the department working in the field of Human Resources, students, and other stakeholders of the department.

Prof. Dr. Karadeniz: "Through the graduate student network created, students' opportunities for workplace training/internship have been improved; the establishment of new graduate-graduate contact has been made possible and the intermediary of the volunteer academic staff of the Department in the work-employee matching activity has been strengthened."

Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karadeniz stated the following about the objectives of the project: " Through the created graduate student network, students' opportunities for workplace training/internship have been improved; the establishment of new graduate-graduate contact has been made possible and the mediation of volunteer Department academic staff in the work-employee matching activity has been strengthened."

Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karadeniz stated the following about the objectives of the project: "To facilitate the transition of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations students to the labor market, to shorten the duration of internship and job placement, to reduce the mismatch in the labor market, to keep the Labor Economics and Industrial Relations curriculum up to date by immediately answering the questions of the graduates about the field with the social media group established between the graduates and the academic staff, and to keep the academic staff and the department informed about the new practices and demands in the labor market through the experience sharing of the graduates among themselves, thus increasing the quality of education and the employability of graduates. At this point, our main goal in creating a network for the graduates of the project was to match graduates and businesses working in fields such as Human Resources, Sustainability, Industrial Relations in working life through an alumni group of 150 people, including students and faculty members. We planned to enable the group members to improve themselves within the philosophy of lifelong education by asking questions among themselves and to the academic staff of the department and by obtaining opportunities such as free training. Within the framework of the project, almost all of the graduates of Pamukkale University Department of EEEI were reached and a network was created with those who have 1 month to 10 years of experience in the private sector and Human Resources etc. among the graduates. Through this network, students' opportunities for workplace training/internship have been developed and strengthened. As of the last two years, the relations that the Department has strengthened with stakeholders from the private sector, NGOs and public institutions, which are actors in the local labor market, have led to a significant improvement in the employment of our graduates and approximately 30% of the students in the last two years have found internship and job opportunities through the graduate network. As a result of meetings with our graduates working in the field of human resources and the department's stakeholders, we have added eight elective courses to our curriculum in the last two years, including Wage and Employment Incentives; Social Compliance in Working Life, Imagination, Creativity and Entrepreneurship; International Social Security, which will increase the employability of our students. As a result of the protocol signed by our Faculty with a software company in the field of human resources and finance, we also opened a certified course in digital human resources for our students. In addition, through the other stakeholder of the project, the Labor Economics Society and our Dean's Office, free courses were opened through Pamukkale Public Education Center to increase the employability of students, and with the support of İŞKUR, our students were given training on CV preparation and interview techniques. Again, with the Labor Economics Society, workplace visits were organized to large enterprises in the private sector where our graduates work, allowing students to observe working life. My project is carried out with the approach of plan, implement, control, take precautions.

Our department has started to play a key role in fulfilling the requirements of its social policy identity in Denizli province, promoting registered employment, improving working conditions, increasing the productivity of enterprises, especially in supporting the employability of young people. As Pamukkale University Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, our project titled "All Stakeholders Hand in Hand for Youth Employment" is one of the best practice examples in higher education programs in Turkey with its institutional, sustainable and innovative approach covering all stakeholders such as students, graduates, academic staff, employers, relevant public institutions. It was a source of great happiness for us that our project was selected as a finalist among 200 projects in the Common Tomorrows Award Program organized by the Confederation of Turkish Employer Unions. At this point, I would like to thank all our stakeholders, especially our Rectorate, who support us."
