PAU Returns from ICHE2022 Conference with Two Awards
As a result of the evaluations made within the scope of ICHE 2022 conference, two works completed under the consultancy of PAU Civil Engineering Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tamer Ayvaz received awards.
PAU Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Civil Engineering Department doctoral student Pınar Gökçe Durgut won the first prize with the work she presented within the scope of her doctoral thesis, and Sakarya University doctoral student Derya Sadak was awarded the second prize with the work she presented within the scope of her master's thesis completed at PAU.
Organized for the 14th time this year by The International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) and Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI), International Conference on Hydroscience & Engineering (ICHE 2022) was held between 26-27 May 2022 hosted by Izmir High Technology Institute.
Pınar Gökçe Durgut, PhD student of Civil Engineering Department, within the scope of her doctoral thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tamer Ayvaz, made a presentation titled “HBV-DE: A New Differential Evolution-based Calibration Approach for the HBV Hydrological Model” and won the first prize.
In addition, Sakarya University doctoral student Derya Sadak, who graduated from PAU Graduate School of Sciences, Department of Civil Engineering won the second prize with her presentation titled "A Simulation-Optimization Approach for solving the Wastewater Load Allocation Problems in River Basin Systems", which she completed within the scope of her master's thesis supervised by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tamer Ayvaz.
