Science World Meets in Denizli: 7th Materials Analysis Congress Begins at PAU

The opening ceremony of the 7th Materials Analysis Congress (EsAn2026) was held at the conference hall of Pamukkale University Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz Congress and Culture Center. Hosted by the Department of Chemistry of Pamukkale University Faculty of Science, the congress brought together domestic and international scientists in Denizli.

The opening ceremony began with a piano recital performed by Dr. Lecturer Serkan Demirtaş, which received great appreciation. In the program, which started with the unifying power of art, Congress Co-Chairs Prof. Dr. Ümit Divrikli and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Akdoğan delivered opening speeches, stating that the congress focuses on innovative solutions in the field of materials analysis and expressing their gratitude to Pamukkale University. Afterwards, Chair of the Congress Sustainability Committee Prof. Dr. Latif Elçi delivered his opening speech and stated that the presented papers would open new horizons in materials analysis technologies and contribute to a sustainable scientific ecosystem.

Pamukkale University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet İnel, in his speech, highlighted the university’s leading role in scientific events and thanked the participants. The ceremony continued with the presentation of plaques to sponsors and began its scientific sessions with the opening lecture by Prof. Dr. M. Reşat Apak.

The congress, which includes 241 participants, 42 universities, 27 different provinces, and 5% industry participation, features 48 oral presentations and 136 poster presentations. Throughout the scientific program, studies covering a wide range of topics such as environmentally friendly sensors, rare earth elements, green chemistry applications, and food safety are shared with participants.

The four-day congress program is not limited to scientific discussions but also introduces participants to Denizli’s rich cultural heritage. Within the scope of the program, participants will have the opportunity to visit Tripolis Ancient City, Buldan, Laodikeia Ancient City, and the world heritage site Pamukkale. EsAn2026 will conclude on Sunday, April 19 with presentation awards and a closing ceremony.
