In the first part of the seminar, the concepts of “quality” and institutional accreditation were discussed. It was stated that institutional accreditation refers to the certification of whether a higher education institution meets defined quality standards through independent evaluation processes. The evaluation stages of the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) were also detailed in the seminar.

Within the scope of YÖKAK’s evaluation criteria, the dimensions of Leadership, Governance and Quality, Education and Teaching, Research and Development, and Societal Contribution were highlighted. The operation of quality processes within the framework of the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle was explained with examples. References were made to tools that can be used through Pamukkale University’s Pusula Information System, and examples were provided regarding the monitoring of performance indicators, the operation of feedback mechanisms, and improvement-based practices.
