07.09.2026
Hülya Tuncer, Chief Physiotherapist at Pamukkale University (PAU) Hospitals, drew attention to the importance of September 8 World Physiotherapy Day and extended her congratulations to all physiotherapists on their special day.
In her statement, Chief Physiotherapist Hülya Tuncer said: “World Physiotherapy Day is celebrated every year on September 8 to draw attention to the contributions of physiotherapy to the healthcare system and people’s quality of life, and to highlight the work and profession of physiotherapists. Physical therapy aims to restore lost movement, improve functionality, support independence, and enhance quality of life. Because movement is one of the fundamental elements of life. Walking, breathing, and independently carrying out activities of daily living are important components of a healthy life. Pre- and post-operative rehabilitation, neurological diseases, orthopedic problems, chronic pain management, and preventing loss of mobility in children and older adults are important for quality of life. As physiotherapists, we aim not only to help our patients regain movement, but also to strengthen hope, self-confidence, and the courage to reconnect with life. It is our greatest source of joy to see every patient we treat leave us with renewed hope for a new life. Where there is movement, there is life. Where there is life, there is hope, and we are there where movement begins again. Happy World Physiotherapy Day on September 8.”
