Within this scope, a hair transplantation procedure involving approximately 600 grafts (hair follicles) was successfully performed on a female patient with permanent hair loss due to scarring alopecia by Dr. Gökhan Çınar, Head of the Hair Transplantation Unit, and the unit team. With this procedure, the second case of hair transplantation performed at the unit due to scarring alopecia was also completed.

Hair loss is among the important dermatological problems that can arise for various reasons and directly affect a person’s quality of life. Hair transplantation, on the other hand, is a treatment option determined according to the cause of permanent hair loss, the characteristics of the scalp, and the suitability of the donor area.

At the PAU Hospitals Hair Transplantation Unit, hair transplantation is initially performed on selected cases with medical indications in order to develop experience in the procedure.

Particularly in transplantations performed in areas with scar tissue, appropriate patient selection and personalized planning are of great importance. In addition to the patient’s characteristics, the condition of the scalp and the suitability of the donor area are also among the determining factors in the success of the procedure.
