Violence Against Women Conference at Honaz Vocational School

Pamukkale University (PAU) Honaz Vocational School organized a conference on "Violence against Women is a Crime against Humanity".
The conference given by Psychologist Şebnem Dal Üzülmez and Lawyer İsmihan Yıkar Korkmaz, who are members of the Denizli Branch of the Association for the Protection of Women's Rights; was attended by Honaz Mayor Yüksel Kepenek, Honaz Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Hülya Kabakçı Karadeniz, faculty members and students.
In the conference held at the Honaz Vocational School Conference Hall, Honaz Mayor Yüksel Kepenek stated that he has always advocated gender equality, that women have a very important place in society, and that they also work as a municipality in the fight against violence.
Expert Psychologist Şebnem Dal Üzülmez stated that psychological and physical violence is mainly perpetrated by husbands, boyfriends, fathers, bosses, supervisors, and that especially those who do not have economic freedom, have a low level of education and receive less social support are exposed to violence. Lawyer İsmihan Yıkar Korkmaz, a member of the Association for the Protection of Women's Rights, touched upon the issue of positive discrimination and stated that it is necessary to pave the way for women and men to become equal in areas such as work, profession and management in society.
After the speeches, Honaz Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Hülya Kabakçı Karadeniz thanked Şebnem Dal Üzülmez and İsmihan Yıkar Korkmaz for their contributions and presented certificates of appreciation and gifts.
