'The Importance of Jerusalem and the Reality of Palestine' Discussed at PAU

The opening speech of the program was delivered by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Durmuş Akalın and academicians and students attended the program.

Vice Rector Akalın: "We are the ones who can best understand the events in Jerusalem after those who live there"

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Durmuş Akalın said the following in his speech "Before I start my speech, I would like to convey the greetings of our Rector Ahmet Kutluhan to you. He especially wanted to attend this meeting, but he could not attend this program because he was in Ankara due to his work. He conveyed my greetings to you and conveyed that this meeting will be concluded in a good way. We will talk about Jerusalem. Perhaps we are the nation that will understand Jerusalem the best after those who live there. After those who live in Gaza and those who live in Palestine, maybe we will know. Because we have memories there, we have joys, we have pains, we have values, we have artifacts, we have history, and today, in front of all our eyes, not only Gazans are dying, but our artifacts there are dying, they are being killed, our historical buildings are being massacred. Our joys, our sorrows, everything we inherited from the past there are being destroyed under those bombs. Therefore, I congratulate my friends who took the time to come here today before the exam. Today we will raise awareness here. We cannot prevent the persecution and massacre there, but at least we will show our discomfort. The voices that accumulate in this way, small by small, will one day cause an unstoppable river, an unstoppable stream, and this is the only way we can eliminate what we are unfortunately experiencing."

PAU Faculty of Theology Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman Aydınlı stated the following in his speech titled 'The Importance of Jerusalem and the Reality of Palestine' "Today, I said let's talk about Jerusalem and dwell on what is going on. It is a subject that we have expressed in every conference we have held so far, but as much as we can, I will try to talk about it on 3 topics and in the most concise way. First of all, what is happening and why blood, tears and great massacres have been happening here for thousands of years. What is the value of Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque? Second, what is happening in Palestine, what is the reality of Palestine? What lies behind today's events? What do the Jews want to do? What are the problems of Zionist Christians? There are many doctoral dissertations on these. They no longer deny it in any of them, and they want this to be known... Thirdly, today and all over the world, the Jews are in charge. What they want to instill in everyone with a great perception of lies and slander is that the Palestinians are selling their land. The Jews bought it with their own money, their own halal money. There is no land that can be canceled. I would like to give the last information on the lie or perception on this subject.
