Safe Transfusion Process Training Held at PAU Hospitals
Pamukkale University (PAU) Hospitals organized a “Safe Transfusion of Blood and Blood Components” training in order to increase the knowledge and awareness levels of healthcare professionals regarding safe transfusion practices.
The training, organized by the Hemovigilance Unit of Pamukkale University Hospitals for nurses, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and technicians, provided comprehensive information on Blood and Blood Components, Transfusion Practice, Transfusion Reactions, and Reaction Management Processes.
In the training delivered by Hemovigilance nurses, key points to be considered in safe transfusion practices, procedures aimed at ensuring patient safety, early recognition of transfusion reactions, and correct management processes were discussed in detail. Within the scope of the training, participants were informed about all stages of the safe transfusion process, and current practices aimed at preventing possible risks were also evaluated.
Through training activities carried out by the Hemovigilance Unit of PAU Hospitals, the aim is to strengthen the professional knowledge of healthcare staff, support safe transfusion practices, and contribute to maintaining patient safety at the highest level.
