Corporate Artificial Intelligence System “PAUAI” Introduced on TRT Radio

24.06.2026
The institutional artificial intelligence system PAUAI of Pamukkale University (PAU), which was implemented with a pioneering vision in digital transformation, domestic technology production, and data security among higher education institutions, was introduced in the “University and Youth” segment of the “Genç Yaşam” program broadcast live on TRT Antalya Radio.

Pamukkale University Director of the Information Technology Department İlker Ulaş, who participated in the program as a live guest, shared with the whole of Türkiye the objectives, extensive capabilities, and philosophy of the PAUAI institutional artificial intelligence platform, which was developed using the university’s own resources and technical staff.

“Data Sovereignty and Information Security Have Been Fundamentally Resolved”

Highlighting that the biggest risks of globally used cloud-based artificial intelligence tools are data leaks and violations of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), Director İlker Ulaş stated:

“Today, widely used foreign cloud services transfer sensitive academic, institutional, and personal data uploaded by users to servers located abroad. As Pamukkale University, we set out to completely break this dependency. PAUAI is hosted entirely within our university’s physical data center and servers. In this way, we have built a 100% secure, free, and fully KVKK-compliant digital structure for our researchers, ensuring that their data does not leave the institution. Our aim is to ensure that the scientific knowledge produced at our university is amplified through artificial intelligence while remaining within the boundaries of the university itself.”

The Era of Artificial Intelligence in Academic Research

Providing technical details about the system’s content and capacity, Ulaş stated that thanks to its multi-model structure, the PAUAI platform can analyze not only text but also documents such as PDF, Word, and Excel files, as well as laboratory results, images, and graphical schematics in depth. He also noted that with API support provided for coding and software development students, the project opens the door to an innovation and R&D environment within the campus. He added that they have received highly positive and pride-inducing feedback from academics and students regarding this pioneering project in Turkish higher education.

Thanks to University Management and the Team

In concluding his speech, Director İlker Ulaş emphasized that this major achievement is a team effort, stating: “First and foremost, I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör, who has always supported digital transformation with a visionary perspective and paved the way for us, as well as our entire university administration; and my colleagues at the Information Technology Department who worked day and night to build the hardware and infrastructure.”

The PAUAI system, which symbolizes Pamukkale University’s innovative and secure technology vision, can be accessed safely by university staff and students via the university network at https://ai.pau.edu.tr/.
