Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan published a message on the occasion of August 30th Victory Day. Rector Prof. Dr. Kutluhan said in his message, “As Pamukkale University, the most important task for us is to make the Republic of Turkey have a say in every field of science and to have the spirit and desire to carry the achievements to higher levels.”
“Today, we celebrate with great pride and excitement the 100th anniversary of the Great Offensive Victory, declared by the great and noble Turkish nation on August 30, 1922 to the whole world.
This glorious victory, in which Anatolia was registered once again as the eternal Turkish homeland after the movement with the ideal of independence in 1919, has become a historical example of both the stance against the states that have invaded the holy homeland and the national struggle carried out altogether.
August 30th Victory, defending our homeland with great faith, love and determination; is the honorable attitude of a nation whose history is full of great achievements. This victory, besides being a unique epic in which the struggle for independence emerged with the feelings of unity and brotherhood, is also a victory that inspired the understanding of the 'homeland' of the oppressed nations in the world.
The cherished Turkish nation, which clearly expressed its struggle against the yoke by saying 'either independence or destruction', defended its independence to the end despite all the impossibilities; Our flag fluttered thanks to our heroes who sacrificed their lives for this cause without thinking.
As Pamukkale University, our most important duty is to make the Republic of Turkey have a say in every field of science, in order to live, keep alive and transfer to the future the concepts of 'perseverance', 'belief', 'effort' and 'success' entrusted to us by our ancestors at the end of historical and national struggles and to have the spirit and desire to carry the achievements to higher levels.
With these feelings and thoughts, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our August 30 Victory Day and the Turkish Armed Forces Day with my sincere wishes, and love all our martyrs and veterans, especially the founder of our Republic, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK and his comrades, with respect and gratitude.”
