PAU Students Commemorate the Great Leader Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with Poetry Recitals and Presentations

In these days when we commemorate the centennial of our Republic and the eighty-fifth anniversary of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's passing, poetry recitals and presentations prepared by undergraduate and graduate students of the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Pamukkale University (PAU) were held.
Organized with the contributions of Pamukkale University Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures, Altai Communities Language and Cultures Application and Research Center and Turkish Yurts Culture and Art Community, the event titled "Turkic Studies - 64: Atatürk and the Turkic World" was held at the Hierapolis Conference Hall of the Vocational School of Social Sciences with the participation of Prof. Dr. Nergis Biray, Director of the Altai Communities Language and Cultures Application and Research Center.
Making the opening speech of the event and Vice Head of the Department, Dr. Sema Eynel emphasized the theme of "Atatürk and the Turkic World" in her speech and stated the necessity and continuity of this and similar events. After the opening speech, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Turkish students, who continue their postgraduate education in the department, read their poems about "Atatürk" in their own dialects from their own countries and their own literature. Likewise, undergraduate and graduate students made presentations about Atatürk, including press publications, memories, anecdotes, poems and his traces in the world. After the presentations, the faculty members of the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures presented certificates of participation to the students who contributed to the event.
