PAU Hospital Pioneers State-of-the-Art Treatments in Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a chronic neurological condition characterized by recurrent seizures that affects people of all ages. It is estimated that around 65 million people worldwide live with epilepsy, making it one of the most common neurological disorders.
Prof. Dr. Göksemin Demir, Lecturer at the Department of Neurology, stated that it is possible to intervene quickly and manage the disease better by using advanced examination methods such as long-term video EEG monitoring for early diagnosis of epilepsy at PAU Hospital. Referring to the importance of personalized treatment approaches in the treatment of epilepsy, Prof. Dr. Göksemin Demir said that comprehensive electrophysiological and neuroimaging studies have paved the way for personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology holds a Specialized Epilepsy Outpatient Clinic on Monday afternoons, where only epilepsy patients are examined and treated, and in addition to medical treatment, counseling services are provided for patients and their families to help them overcome the difficulties caused by epilepsy.
