14.10.2023

In the public announcement issued by the Pamukkale University Senate, it was stated that "we join the call of all common-sense people and organizations to put an end to the disproportionate response by Israeli forces, which has turned the region into a bloodbath and especially targeted Gaza" and demanded the swift implementation of United Nations Resolutions 181 (29 November 1947), 194 (11 December 1948), 303 (9 December 1949), 2253 (4 July 1967) and 38/180 (19 December 1983).

The full text of the public announcement is as follows:

"The events taking place in Palestine in front of the eyes of the whole world deeply sadden us all. The systematic seizure of Palestinian lands by force and disregarding all moral values, which has been going on systematically since 1948, is not an acceptable situation. The Palestinian people's desire to live freely in their own land can no longer be ignored. The killing of  journalists trying to get news from the region, the destruction of hospitals, mosques, churches, ambulances, without any mention of children, elderly and women, will remain as a shame in the memories of human history. The ruthless and shameless targeting of Palestinian civilians with a sense of revenge cannot be justified on any grounds. We join the call by all people and organizations of common sense to put an end to the disproportionate response by Israeli forces, which has turned the region into a bloodbath and targeted Gaza in particular. We invite all responsible countries to support this. In this context, we demand the swift implementation of United Nations resolutions 181 (November 29, 1947), 194 (December 11, 1948), 303 (December 9, 1949), 2253 (July 4, 1967) and 38/180 (December 19, 1983). Such acts of occupation in Gaza and Palestine will only exacerbate the problems and increase the suffering in the region. We share the pain of the Palestinian people, as do all parties of conscience, in the face of the disproportionate use of force by the Israeli forces, which exceed the rules of morality and disregard international law.

It is announced to the public".
