Intense Interest in ITS CUP Table Tennis Tournament

ITS CUP Table Tennis Tournament, which was organized for the first time within the scope of "30 Years 30 Theme Activities" on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the foundation of Pamukkale University, was held at Pamukkale University Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Sports Center on November 29-30, 2022.

The ITS CUP Table Tennis Tournament, organized for the first time under the coordination of the Faculty of Communication in cooperation with the Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Tourism and Vocational School of Social Sciences, started with the opening match between Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Ali Soylu and Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Serkan Bertan.  Speaking before the opening match, Prof. Dr. Ali Soylu said, "We attach importance to sports activities as much as we attach importance to education."

A total of 22 athletes took part in the tournament and students showed great interest

22 athletes participated in the ITS CUP Table Tennis Tournament, 14 male and 8 female athletes took part. After the opening match, 14 matches were played on the first day of the tournament. As a result of the matches played on the first day of the tournament, 1 from the Faculty of Tourism, 3 from the Faculty of Communication and 4 from the Vocational School of Social Sciences advanced to the semi-finals. 

7 matches were played on the second day of the tournament. In the women's category, Aysun Bozkurt from the Vocational School of Social Sciences came first, Kübra Çimen from the Faculty of Communication came second and Ayşe Bodur from the Vocational School of Social Sciences came third. In the men's category, Alperen Ertaş from the Vocational School of Social Sciences came first, Kadir Ketenci from the Faculty of Communication came second and Harun Tozlutepe from the Vocational School of Social Sciences came third.

Speaking at the award ceremony of the tournament, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Ali Soylu said "Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Tourism, Vocational School of Social Sciences gave a very good example of cooperation." and thanked Prof. Dr. Serkan Bertan, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Prof. Dr. Nergis Biray, Director of the Vocational School of Social Sciences. The ITS Cup ended with the award ceremony where the top three athletes received medals and various gifts.
