Honorary Award to PAU Academician from Poland Silesian University of Technology

Within the scope of the Talentdetector 2024 Congress organized by Poland's Silesian University of Technology, Pamukkale University Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran was awarded the honorary award.

Delivering the opening speech of the Congress, Congress President Prof. Dr. Miroslaw Bonek explained the reason for the award to Prof. Meran as "his contributions to the development of international scientific cooperation between Pamukkale University and Silesian University, the training of many scientists in the field of Materials Engineering and the establishment of real friendship ties between the two countries".

In his statement, Prof. Dr. Meran said that the award in question was started to be given last year, the first honorary award was given to Prof. Peter Palcek from the University of Zilina in Slovakia, and that he was very honored, proud and happy that he was deemed worthy of the second award at the Talentdetector 2024 conference held in Gliwice, Poland on January 26, 2024, and that he was very honored, proud and happy that he was deemed worthy of the award. He thanked Prof. Dr. Miroslaw Bonek, Chairman of the Congress, Prof. Dr. Tomasz Tanski, Head of the Department of Biomaterials and Engineering Materials, his fellow Polish faculty members who prepared a very nice award ceremony, Prof. Dr. Leszek Dobrzanski and Dr. Marzane Kraszewska for their contributions to the relations that started with Silesian University of Technology in 2007. Prof. Meran also stated that during their bilateral meetings, they discussed the possible activities to increase academic and student-centered cooperation between the two universities.
