Great Success from Tavas Vocational School Culinary Program Students

Tavas Vocational School Department of Cookery students achieved a great success by winning 1 trophy and 20 medals in addition to the second prize in the category of "best university team" in the competitions organized within the scope of the 19th International Istanbul Culinary Days held on 22-25 December 2022 and attended by 1056 competitors from 22 countries.

Between 22-25 December 2022, 1056 competitors from 22 countries participated in the 19th International Istanbul Culinary Days organized by the Turkish Federation of Chefs and Chefs in Istanbul and competed in 78 categories. On behalf of Pamukkale University, a team of students from Tavas Vocational School Cookery Program participated in the competitions and showed their skills.

Advised by Pamukkale University, Tavas Vocational School, Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services, Cookery Program Lecturer Nusret Ercan Şenlikçi, the PAU team received the second prize in the category of "best university team" in the competitions organized within the scope of the event, which was attended by many national teams from abroad. PAU students won 1 gold pan cup, 7 gold, 10 silver and 3 bronze medals, in total 1 cup and 20 medals.

Advisor Lecturer Nusret Ercan Şenlikçi emphasized that this is a team work and thanked everyone, especially Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan, Tavas Mayor Hüseyin İnamlık, Tavas Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Parlaz, who contributed to their preparation and participation in the competition, and expressed their great happiness that these efforts turned into medals. 

PAU students Mehmet Akkaya, Yavuz Öz and Bedirhan Oğuzman won the Best University Team of the Year, three gold medals, second place and Golden Pan; Oğulcan Erkek, Ayşe Yılmaz and Emirhan Adıgüzel won a total of six silver medals in the Best University of the Year and Practical Junior Category; Bilal Emre Kölem, Ceren Şimşek and Buğra Namlıer won three gold medals in the Best University of the Year category; Mustafa Kaan Aydemir Ali Emre Aydemir and İrem Çetin won three bronze medals in the Best University of the Year category; Furkan Öz, Merve Gezgin and Ahmet Genç won three silver medals in the Best University of the Year category; Merve Gezgin won the gold medal in the Restaurant Dessert Plate category and Ahmet Genç won the silver medal in the Inter-University Individual Main Course category.
