"English Debate" Event Held at PAU

Pamukkale University (PAU) School of Foreign Languages (CLIC) CLIC Coordinatorship and PAU Debate Society organized an "English Debate" event in Melek Sözkesen Hall of the Faculty of Education.
The "English Debate" event started with the opening speeches of Kağan Kalaycı, Head of Social Media Unit of the Debate Community, and Dr. Ayşe Demir, CLIC Coordinator, with information about the debate and the topics given to the debaters. The students discussed the topic "Artificial intelligence should replace humans in the future" and shared their opposing ideas with the students and jury members in the hall. The debaters, who fought fiercely, defended their opinions on the given topic in the time allotted to them. The debate participants received full marks from the audience and the jury with their opinions such as artificial intelligence not having emotions, a machine created by humans cannot replace them and much more. Prof. Dr. Turan Paker, Head of the Department of English Language Teaching in the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Foreign Languages Education, Prof. Dr. Turan Paker, Deputy Director of the School of Foreign Languages Prof. Dr. Turan Paker, Head of the Department of English Language Education at the Faculty of Education, Dr. Lecturer Seher İşcan, Deputy Director of the School of Foreign Languages and Dr. Lecturer Kahan Onur Arslan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law. As a result of the evaluation made by Prof. Dr. Kahan Onur Arslan as a jury, Burak Pırpır, a second-year student of the Gastronomy Department of the Faculty of Tourism, and İrem Taşkın, a first-year student of English Language and Education, were determined as the winning group. Kamer Elif Yılmaz, Melih Emre Ünal, Baran Korkmaz, Mustafa Eren Tengiz and Emre Koçoğlu were presented their gifts by the jury members after their ranking was announced. Elif Beyza Güleçyüz was selected as the "Best Speaker" through online voting by the jury and the audience. The event ended with photo shoots and feedbacks from debater and the organizing committee.
