Conference titled 'Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's Life and the Republic' Organized at PAU
Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History organized a conference titled 'Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's Life and the Republic'.
In the conference held at Pamukkale University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences İsmail Çetişli Conference Hall, History Department Vice Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çağdaş Yüksel first talked about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's family, the environment he grew up in, the education he received and the factors that shaped his life in the early years of his life.
In the rest of the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yüksel discussed how military education shaped Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's life and the relationship between the Union and Progress Party and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The experiences of the Ottoman Empire during the First World War and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's military services, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's military achievements during the Gallipoli Wars were examined. It was emphasized that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk changed the fate of the war with his intervention by taking the initiative and risking his life during the Dardanelles War. It was underlined that the victory in the Battle of Gallipoli both changed world history by prolonging the First World War and introduced Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to the army and the public.
In the conference, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's activities during the National Struggle were summarized and important events were underlined, the Lausanne Peace Treaty and the declaration of the Republic and Atatürk's contribution to the Republic were evaluated, various information was given about Atatürk's reforms and the aims of these reforms, and the methods of implementing Atatürk's reforms were evaluated. In the last part of the conference, the expectations of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Founder of the Republic, from the Turkish Nation were shared. The conference ended after the question and answer session.
