Conference on Health Services in Denizli from the First Years of the Republic to Today

In the conference organized by Pamukkale University (PAU) Denizli Vocational School of Health Services within the scope of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic celebrations, a general panorama of health services in Denizli from past to present was presented.
Ali Tomalı, Acting Secretary of PAU Faculty of Theology, first talked about the administrative organization of the city, which is an important parameter for health services to gain a public character. Information was given about the epidemics and infectious diseases from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic and the physicians working in the city. Subsequently, while mentioning the importance and mission of Denizli in the National Struggle on the road to the Republic, the health services provided in the city during this period were explained.
With the proclamation of the Republic, detailed information was given in the light of reports and statistics about the health organization and personnel in both Turkey and Denizli. The health institutions and organizations established in the city and the services of the health personnel, photographs and documents related to the period were visually shared with the participants. Chronologically, information was presented in the light of official reports about the health cases from the proclamation of the Republic to the present day, the hospitals and other health institutions built and the people who contributed to Denizli health services. In the last part, the effects and reflections of the Covid-19 Pandemic, which affected the whole world, in Denizli were shared with the participants in the light of numerical data.
At the end of the conference, Denizli Vocational School of Health Services Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar İli presented a certificate of appreciation to Ali Tomalı.
