16.01.2024
The fifth "AD Project: Creative Ideas Compete" event organized by Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Communication started this year.
This year, as every year, students of PAU Faculty of Communication will compete for four days to win the best project award with their campaigns and social responsibility projects. Organized by PAU Faculty of Communication, Department of Public Relations and Publicity, "AD Project: Creative Ideas Compete" started with the opening ceremony held at PAU Faculty of Communication Hierapolis Conference Hall.
Dean Soylu: "The event shows how much importance our faculty attaches to practice in education"
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Ali Soylu said, "Welcome to the 'AD Project Creative Ideas Competition' event organized by Pamukkale University Public Relations and Publicity Department. Today is a very precious and valuable day for us. Because we are showcasing, so to speak, the works that our students have realized with great effort. Our Project event is an event that we organize twice a year. In the fall semester, our students prepare advertising projects in the 'Advertising Campaign Design' course and turn them into a presentation. They present these projects to us both as a course project and at the same time in a competition format. In the spring semester, our students prepare corporate communication projects within the scope of the 'Public Relations Campaign Design' course. These activities show how much the education given by our faculty is based on practice. Because our students realize an application of the education they have received for four years in both 'Advertising Campaign Design' and 'Public Relations Campaign Design' courses with these studies. As a result of the projects prepared, we can make it possible for our graduate students to work in the fields of corporate communication and advertising very easily. These are our important advantages." Prof. Dr. Soylu also ended his speech by thanking Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan and Vice Rectors for their support to the Faculty of Communication.
Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Soylu thanked Ömürcan Işık, Chief of Kanguroo Creative Agency, for his contribution to the event and presented him with a plaque.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Akalın: "The most beautiful aspect of the university is what it produces."
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Durmuş Akalın, who attended the event and made a speech at the opening, started his speech by conveying the greetings of Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan. Prof. Dr. Akalın continued his words as follows: "We have come together for a really nice event. The name 'Creative ideas are competing' already arouses excitement in us. Indeed, we see here a product-oriented, event-oriented aspect of the university's social areas in particular.Because the most beautiful aspect of a university is what it produces. It is what it contributes to the city and the people and what it leaves behind as a product, as a result. In this respect, our Faculty of Communication is organizing a nice event. We look forward to the continuation of this kind of work. Our students are really lucky, they see theory and practice together here. As a result of a well-planned process, they had the opportunity to show themselves with a sweet competition, to show their ideas and different aspects, and I would like to thank all our professors who contributed to this. I would also like to express my gratitude to the supporters, I hope it will be a nice event, I wish you all success in advance, may your event be conducive to beauty and success."
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Akalın presented a plaque to Songül Akdağ Işık, Head of the Copywriters Group at Kanguroo Creative Agency, who made a presentation at the opening ceremony, and thanked her for her support for these events.
Until Thursday, January 18, students of the Faculty of Communication, Department of Public Relations and Publicity will present the projects they have prepared throughout the semester in the categories of advertising campaign design, internet advertisement, social media advertisement, print advertisement, outdoor advertisement and TV script.
