26th Finance Symposium: First Prize for PAU

In the 26th Finance Symposium organized by Sivas Cumhuriyet University on 18-21 October 2023 on the 100th anniversary of our Republic, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Uyar and PhD candidate Melike Yavuz were awarded the first prize with the paper they presented.
The Finance Symposium, which is organized every year in October by a university in cooperation with the Finance Science Platform, was organized by Sivas Cumhuriyet University on October 18-21, 2023 in the 100th anniversary of our Republic. The Finance Symposium, which has been continuing uninterruptedly since 1996, except for the pandemic year, is a well-established organization. The 26th Finance Symposium attracted 204 participants from academia, institutions and financial markets. Sixty-four scientific papers were presented at the event, with panels discussing current developments in economics and finance.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Uyar and PhD candidate Melike Yavuz from Pamukkale University (PAU) participated in this well-established event with their paper titled "FRAKTAL-HRP: A Hybrid Machine Learning Proposal in Portfolio Management". The scientific study, which is a software proposal that aims to gain superiority in the management of portfolio investments with a hybridized machine learning technique against traditional investment strategies currently used in the market, was awarded the first prize by the symposium scientific board.
